AC Question

my screen randomly moves around and presses buttons even when im not touching it. when im trying to scroll it freezes and i have to lock it and unlock it for it to be okay for two minutes. i have no idea whats going on but its become completely unusable and i dont know how to fix it. doing a lot of reading i saw that i can maybe download an app and try calibrating the screen

Welcome to Android Central! It's probably not a screen calibration issue. Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

I did a factory reset and also tried lowering the animation settings in developer mode but it only partially fixed the problem. I have to rotate the screen to type and I have to press next to the letter I need. When my phone isn't rotated I can only press certain buttons. Its hard to explain but its really odd and annoying. I tried to do what you said to get into safe mode but nothing happens when I press and hold the power off is there another way to get to safe mode or something else I should try.
