How do I set a custom ringtone and notification tone for each of my contracts?

I started by going to a contact. I went to the edit area. At the bottom of that contact it shows the ringtone. Then it has a box to tap to "add another field". When I did that there is nothing that says "notifications". This is silly because I have done it for some contacts, they have their own ringtone AND notification. Everyone else has the default. But I can't remember how to get to the screen to customize notifications for each contact.

I have the Samsung Galaxy 5 smartphone.

There should be a standard field called "message tone".
