Motorola Droid Turbo Text Ringtone

I want to set a customized ringtone as my text notification but it will not let me. The customized ringtone will show up in my Phone notification sounds but not in my text notification sounds. I know that it possible to access the SD card documents and manually ad your file to the list of text sounds but I can not find a way into SD card docs. Obviously there is no SD external in the turbo but there still has to be a way to access documents, right?

I think you need to save it to a media\alerts folder instead of media\ringtones.

I use GoSms Pro. Each of my important contacts has a unique notification ringtone (Zedge). Makes it easy to know if I need to look at my phone or not. When I download a notification tone it ends up in my music folder.

Any sound file that you want to be a notification tone should be stored in a folder called "notifications". It can be anywhere in storage - /notifications, /media/notifications, /media/audio/notifications, /foo/bar/notifications, etc. Phone call ringtones are the same except the folder is called "ringtones". Alarm sounds are in a folder called "alarms", unsurprisingly.

Another option is to use the Zedge app and you can save and set ringer and notification tones directly from within the app.
