I get a lot of email w/ attachments that I do not open on my phone, but the attachments always get downloaded anyway and I see them in ES File Explorer.

I keep deleting these, as many are large blueprints in pdf and take up tons of memory.

Is there a way i can set up to NOT automatically download all of these attachments?

On a related note, I'd like to know how to get the attachments downloaded automatically so I don't have to specifically click on them to download them.

I'm using the built-in Sense email client. What client are you using?

You can do this for specific mailboxes in the email client. Go to the mailbox (exchange, etc.), Menu > more > settings > send & receive. There should be a menu option to include file attachment. There are varying parameters and an 'always' or a 'never'.

Hope this helps.

I am using the built in Sense Mail client for my work POP3 account.

I had the "mail size limit" set to 1 MB. I just adjusted this down to 25KB to see what this does. I see that if you set to1 KB or 5KB you get text only. I will see what this does for my issue.

What is you mail size limit set to?

I just checked again, and I do not see an option to control this on my TB. I can only control the size of the emails to download, and the smaller choices only allow for text, so I think this is my best option.

Do you have a TB?
Can you look and see where exactly this option is located if so?

Maybe this is just a setting associated with Exchange accounts. I looked on my other account and there is not an option for attachments. Since this seems to be the case, I believe that this is your best option as far as download size. It may truncate some long emails, but it will save space.

Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks. Just FYI... this option is available using the Sense email client on my gmail account (syncing with ExchangeSync), but not on my other generic IMAP account from another server.
