how do I stop automatic underlining

I was typing my e-mail address and it automatically underlines it and the underline button doesn't remove it

Welcome to Android Central! Which device, and where you typing it? It's only underlining to show that it can be tapped to send an email to. It shouldn't show up in any printed material as an actual underline.
