GPS Icon Flashing - Increased Battery Drain on ATT HTC One M8

I've noticed that my GPS icon continues to flash every minute or so. I've tried completely disabling location services as well as uninstalling apps that appear to be using GPS services (like weather).

In the battery manager, I notice that the bulk of my battery life with the screen off is being eaten by Android System 51%, and that the GPS has been active for 1h 11m in the last ~5 hours.

I can provide screenshots from battery manager if that will help, but this is far and away the outlier.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Well after two and a half months of this I finally got a $100 credit to my bill and I am getting an HTC One M9 shipped to me to replace this M8. They still don't know when the issue will be fixed or what is causing it. I don't think they even begun working to fix it until after the Lolipop update because they thought it would fix it. I'm just glad to get a new phone and not have to worry about this anymore and it's worth buying a new OtterBox case and tempered glass screen protector for the M9.

I am getting the M9 at no additional cost. I am on the AT&T Next plan with the M8 but they are replacing it with the M9. All I have to do is ship the M8 back.

Settings -> General -> Application Manager -> All -> Unified Daemon -> Clear Data. You will have to reset some of your apps such as City in the stock weather app.

So after updating to Lollipop, I'm having a similar issue, but it isn't the exact same. Still lots of waking of my GPS and battery drain, but now stopping IQ Agent does nothing, while turning off my GPS does stop it. This is the reverse of what was going on with me on KitKat.

Since I'm rooted now, I'm currently just waiting it out for an AT&T based ROM with all of AT&T's crap removed. Should be any day now.

Have you guys got snapchat installed?? If so go into settings-manage advanced settings-until box that allows use of gps for geofilters. Seems to have done the job for me anyway
