How do I stop my LG Rebel from showing multiple calculator icons?

When I wake my phone up, the homepage has multiple calculator (or calendar) icons even though I haven't used those apps. They appear automatically while the phone is sleeping. How do I stop this?

That's odd. Maybe it's the beaver? Jk.
Delete all the extras, clear the cache partition and reboot. Put phone in safe mode and see if the issue returns. If yes, factory reset. If no, start looking for the app causing it. Good luck to you.

Just FYI, those are shortcuts, not apps. The apps are in the app drawer (round con - bottom left). You can just long-press the shortcuts you don't want, then delete them.

That's true, but I wonder what's creating those shortcuts? OP mentioned that they seem to get created when the phone is not in use.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try that. I know I can delete those shortcuts, but, as B. Diddy says, what is causing that to happen? And FYI, it's not a beaver, it's a woodchuck and I doubt he is responsible.
