How do I stop my ZTE's weird music playback issue ?

My ZTE Z826 will make music playback while locked randomly mute for about 8 seconds then restarts at the point where it went mute and continues to play music. This has happened in both Spotify and Napster. It is extremely random and I don't know what could be causing it since music doesn't just stop but rather goes mute for a bit then continues.

Welcome to Android Central! Is this only when using Bluetooth headphones, or also with wired headphones or through the main speaker?

i had the same issue with my last android phone but it turned out to be an issue of the audio jack.... well, somehow. because when i mess with the jack, the audio would play and stop randomly. channels were also affected when i shook it.

I only listen to music through wired headphones. I have also tried using different headphones but it would still happen.

Are you using headphones designed for iPhones?

I highly doubt that it's a headphone issue. I could try and see if the issue will happen thought the phone speaker it's just that it happens very randomly and not always on the first song.

Do all of the headphones you've tried have remote control buttons and a mic? See what happens if you use simple headphones (i.e., without a mic or remote buttons).

I have used simple headphones as well as earphones but the same thing will still happen.

Any power-saving modes turned on, or 3rd party power-saving apps? Or "RAM-booster" apps?

Also, try wiping the cache partition: ZTE Z826 Grand X Plus - Recovery Mode - HardReset.info

It seems that wiping the cache partition has fixed the issue since it hasn't happened since.
