how do I stop phone ringing while headphones are connected

Ive been using a Motorola Edge (2022) and whenever I have my bluetooth earbuds connected, it rings through both my phone, and the earbuds, loudly through the phone, and its kind of embarrassing in public spaces when your phone starts blaring Clocks by Coldplay out of nowhere.. I looked online and it said to toggle in-line hearing or something like that? the description said it disables custom ringtones through the earbuds, so I had a friend help me test it, and it just played clocks through the phone and the default ringtone through the earbuds, any comment or solution greatly helps.

*edit: I also tried using Motorola support and it didn't help either, and the earbuds are a pair titled VERVE TWS from 5 below, and I cant get any other pairs of earbuds right now because I'm kinda flat broke atm-

In Bluetooth settings when u tap the gear icon next to the paired device is calls/Audio enabled?

Check in the phone app settings anything for connected to Bluetooth for calls go through headset
