How do I stream video from my Android phone direct to my Smart TV?

Hi,

Tonight I have played a video on the YouTube app on my android phone and was immediately asked if I wanted to play the video through my LG Smart TV that is connected to the same wifi network.

I have recently downloaded the showtime app and I am keen to do the same when I watch video through that app.
I have selected a video and chosen to watch it trough and external player, but it doesn't give me the option to stream through my TV.

Is there an additional app that I need to install to do this?

I have tried doing it through Widi Direct which is built into my LG TV however this doesn't seem to work either.

Any ideas?

Look on Chromecast mirroring. If your phone is on the list, Chromecast and the Chromecast app will allow you to mirror your phone to your TV. (If you're using a Samsung phone, for example, it only does direct wifi to Samsung smart TVs.)

you could check the Megacast, it supports mp4, 3gp, avi, mkv and all the other file formats..it does the transcoding on the fly on the device and with no delay or anything...
