Android Central Question

I have hundreds of notes on my Android 6.0/EMUI 4.1 stock notepad. I want to transfer them all to some other notepad or text editor, but the app only allows me to copy them one at a time. What can I do?

Welcome to Android Central! Use a file manager app to look around the user directories and see if those notes are accessible as individual files. If you can't find anything, then they're probably in a protected system directory. There may not be any good solution for you -- this is why I always recommend against using any preinstalled note-taking app for important notes, since these kinds of apps typically don't sync anywhere, nor do they offer an easy way to transfer or export data. In the future, stick with good cross-platform note-taking apps like Google Keep Notes, OneNote, or Evernote.

Which phone do you have? Chances are that with a phone on EMUI 4.1, there are no official updates to a more recent version.

It looks like the P9 Lite got updated to at least Oreo (EMUI 8.0). Is an update available for your phone?

Be aware that sometimes, when there's a system update, the manufacturer might modify preinstalled apps. So there's always a possibility that with the update, they could get rid of or replace the note-taking app you currently have (which means your notes could also disappear). Unfortunately, there's no way for me to know, since I don't have that phone. You may want to search around to see if anyone else who updated to EMUI 8.0 noted any change in the note-taking app.
