How do I transfer texts from my HTC to my Nexus?

just got my nexus 6 today from Motorola. I love it! how do I transfer texts over from my htc one m8 though?

I used the SMS Backup and Restore app from the Play Store. Just copy the file to dropbox or something.

Same. Works awesome. Even saves MMS messages

I also use the Call Logs Backup too for my calls. I works the same way.

Also My Backup Pro ( https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...om.rerware.android.MyBackupPro&token=pB4s_uam ). It goes far beyond just SMS/MMS.

In the Backup settings, you can have it automatically send to your Dropbox account.

Sort of, not actually sure I am doing everything totally right, but when I backup and email it to myself, when I restore them I have "null" in the group messages and it doesn't show who each message is from but all of the messages are there.

Well I had no luck at all moving messages over from my M8 using SMS Backup and Restore. It backed up without issue, but when restoring including the MMS the Messaging app on the Nexus 6 wouldn't stop crashing after being open for a few seconds. Restoring the texts without restoring the MMS worked better, but messages only went back a month. And for some reason it wouldn't let me send a message. So I ended up just starting from scratch.
