How do I turn off sending read receipts to others in my group message on GS7?

I just got my new phone. I'm trying out the stock app but when I get a new message from others in group conversations it asks me to send a read receipt and I either cancel or click ok. This is extremely annoying and I already had turned off delivery reports in settings so I'm not sure where I can turn this off. Any help is appreciated.
