How do you access transfered music?

Hi there
I have transfered some music using the USB cable into the music holder on the HTC10 folder which shows clearly on my laptop. When I go to the music player on the phone there is nothing there? there is a default payer = google play and i've also downloaded something called blackplayer but same problem...any clues? I really dont want to be stuck having to but music through the store. Is there a way to get to the music folder on the phone?

Welcome to Android Central! What format are the music files in? Using the file manager app or Windows Explorer, check the Music directory to make sure there isn't a file called ".nomedia", which tells the system to ignore that directory when looking for music to add to the music app's database.

it usually takes a minute for google play to recognize songs u add to the phone... go to the music settings and refresh the player
