How do you add a default language to S7 Edge

Hi Everyone,

On my Samsung S7 Edge, there is only 1 choice for the English language. How do I download and add English (United Kingdom) to this list so I can have the Google Assistant respond in that language?

Go to add languages and then click on the 3 dots and tap on all languages. If you go into English from there you will see United Kingdom listed.

Hi magerb,

"Add Language" is not listed on my screen when I tap the following:

Settings -> Language and input

If I tap "Language", there is only 1 choice for English. I need to add English (United Kingdom)

All that is shows after tapping "Language and input" is:

Language
Default Keyboard
Gboard
Google voice typing
Samsung keyboard
Text-to-speech
Pointer speed

The 3 dots icon is not showing up. All documentation I've seen on the internet states there should be "Add language" but it's not there.

I'm using using Marshmallow 6.0.1 for the OS.

I cannot remember on Marshmellow anymore, it's been 5 months and I am old Let me see if a few images help. Tap on each item I have circled. It may look a little different. I started at language and input. If this does not help, I am sorry.

My screen is very much different under "Language and input". Looks like the Galaxy S7 Edge is different than your phone because my other phone which is the Samsung Galaxy J7 does allow me to change or add the Language and has the same screens as your screen shots.

I am sorry I could not help. I am using the S7 edge with Nougat 7.0.

How did you get Nougat? I tried "Download updates manually" but it tells me I"m on the latest version even though I know Nougat is the latest version.

Hi,

Looks like that ability is only available to locked phones by a carrier. Mine is an unlocked phone from Bestbuy.

I found the Samsung support forum and posted over there as well to see if they can push an update so I will be current.

Yeah, Samsung has really fallen behind with the US unlocked model.
