How do you clean the glass on your Incredible?

No screen protector is the way to go, definitely. ;)

I use a microfiber cloth, or a shirt. Don't use paper towels, bath towels, etc. as that can scratch the screen after a while (speaking from experience :()

Don't they call that "going commando?"

I have rubbed keys, a fork, steak knife, and other sharp objects on my screen to demonstrate the durability of the screen. Why would a bath towel scratch it? I love the look on someones face when I slide a wolfgang puck pairing knife across the screen.

I've got a Steinheil CC protector on and I use a microfiber cloth that I use for my glasses.

I take a little water on my fingers and rub it on the screen, then wipe it with a towel. Tis method also worked very well on my BB Storm.

Don't have a droid, yet (it's coming in a few months). But for my Blackberry, and other optical items I use the Nikon (there are other manufactures too) microfiber cloth. Size is 6x6", but it fold into a small cloth container that is about 1x1/2 inch and hangs from my key chain. Primarily I originally used it for my Nikon camera lenses, but it works great on any optical surface.

I use my shirt, for the simple reason that I always have one on me.

For those who use their shirt or any handy pc of cloth, do you have any hairline scratches? I have had the VZW protector since I got the phone in April and clean it the same way - shirt, pants, etc. The protector, however now has many fine scratches that I can see when the screen is dark and light is reflecting. The areas above and below, on the other hand, are not scratched.

How does the screen do in terms of fingerprints and smudges? The VZW protector seems to attract them as my finger approaches!! :p That's why I'm always wiping it down. Is the real screen better with those?

Based on this, I was thinking of removing the protector (never used one on a phone before) and going with nothing while cleaning the same way. I can't see carrying a special cloth around with me being convenient.

Thanks

Best thing to do IMO is go to Wal Mart and pickup a 5 pack of micro fiber clothes for a few bux (in the auto detail isle). Best thing out there IMO

jr - I had the VZW protector at first as well, and I agree it's a magnet for dust and oils. I broke down and got the Zagg, BB did the install because my meathook hands have never mastered that art of applying any type of screen protector without getting fingerprints, and bubbles all over it.

I thought of going commando w/ the phone, but I just could not bring myself to risk the screen.

No hairline scratches on mine, and I've been cleaning my screen this way since I got it on June 11. As for fingerprints and smudges, yeah they happen, but they wipe off with one swipe across my shirt sleeve. It's just what happens when fingers and glass meet, so to me it's not a big deal.

why does it matter if you clean it with cloth or microfiber? it's not like it will be scratched. O.o
