So of course battery life on my TB is terrible...... But since I have to have my shell/holster combo I'm stuck with the stock battery. I just DL juicedefender ultimate and was wondering if it will actually do anything???? I have noticed so far that it turns off my 3G and wifi on its own, will this prohibit me from getting my gmail or gtalk?? same with phone calls and text messages??

I find JuiceDefender very helpful if used under a certain set of circumstances. Basically if you are a heavy user it's not going to do you much good, it's benefits are mostly when your screen is off. I'm not a heavy phone user, few calls a day-fb & twitter-email-a few games-little web surfing, so my screen is off the majority of the day, I seem to benefit a great deal from it. I average between 12-16 hours with it, and it's not unusual for me to get 24 hours with it. It really doesn't do anything that I couldn't do myself, it just makes it easier because it does it for me.

I'm not a heavy user either, but I do like to have instant emails and Gtalk in real time. Will this delay my google apps?

It doesn't delay Gtalk at all, me and my fiancee use it all the time. I don't keep my email set to instant update so I can't say for sure, but I would expect it wouldn't effect it since it doesn't effect Gtalk.

Yes, it turns off mobile data, which is a huge cause of poor battery life especially if you are on 4g.

You can set a custom profile to have out turn on the mobile data every so often, but it won't be real time. However you will still get texts and phone calls normally as that comes through a different radio.

I've typically only use juice defender while I'm on 4g.

Also another good tip, use wifi whenever possible, that is also a huge battery saver. Juice defender has some cool wifi features that use your location to know when to turn on wifi so that when you are near a wireless signal you always use it automatically connects.

With the screen on, it would not matter. With the screen off, it will sync data according to whatever you set it at. I don't use gmail, but use yahoo mail, and it has immediate push for mail, so my mail is delayed until the next sync time set up in juice defender.

It may help, depending on you usage and whether or not some app goes out of whack.

I like the Location based switching for WiFi/4G. It has to go through a "training" period, but once that is done, works pretty well.

I use JuiceDefender Ultimate and can tell a major difference in my battery life. JuiceDefender shows that it my battery life is extended by an average of x1.46, and I can easily go almost a whole day without recharging. I would also consider myself a heavy user.

I am like juice defender but I found a similar app called '2x Battery'. it is the same concept. check it out... i prefer it to juice defender but to each there own...

just throwing this out there so people have more options to choose from.. :)

Question...
Can you adjust the time when the screen shuts down and the data immediately turns off?

I would like to put a 5 minute waiting period on the data being shut off when my screen turns off.

I uninstalled JuiceDefender last night, its not for the type of user I am. Mainly becuase this is my 3rd Android device so I'm very fast. I dont want to have to wait a couple seconds everytime I turn my screen on to send a Gtalk message or use voice to text......
