How does Dual Sim work when it comes to WhatsApp?

Hi guys,

Toying with the idea of going from Apple to android, looking at the Samsung A71 and can see it’s got dual sim support.

How does that work in WhatsApp? I wouldn’t want to link my work sim to WhatsApp, and I think WhatsApp can only link to one number anyway?

How does it work in practice..?

It will work the same way that with a normal/not dual SIM phone. Open WhatsApp for the first time in your new phone, enter the phone number that you use as your WhatsApp account and you'll get the verification code via SMS to activate it.

Your WhatsApp account can only be used on one device so make sure to follow the right steps to restore as much of your data as you can in your new phone. This article can be helpful.

All my android devices have been dual SIM and never had a problem with WhatsApp. The only thing that you will need is to be able to receive the verification code through the SIM card with the number that you use as WhatsApp account. The funny thing is that you don't even need this SIM card active in the same phone you are setting WhatsApp up!
