How does everyone like their Note?

Pfffft, well aren't you a curmudgeon? The Note 8 has a lot of admirable features and is likely a significant improvement over many previous devices for many people.

As for overpaying? This is more than just a mobile phone. Even my old Note3 was utilized more than my laptop and tablet.

These are extremely portable and durable pocket sized computers. And such convenience, reliability, durability and capability comes with a price tag.

My Note 3 was still functioning perfectly, so I did not really HAVE to get this Note 8, but I chose to, as you did, in order to have one of the newest and best devices on the market.

I for one, am happy to promote this device!

I'm not like most people so how I like mine is different than most.
I do like the Note 8, but honestly, aside from live messages, the larger screen, iris scanner, camera, and terrible placement of the fingerprint scanner, I don't see anything significant over my note 5.

That isn't necessarily bad, aside from the price. I don't expect huge jumps in phones anymore and I'm not not the type to exaggerate or feel the need to hype something in order to justify my purchase.
I willing paid retail for it as I do all of my phones, but I know I over paid.

There is absolutely nothing amazing about this or any other phone.
Disagree. I also came from a Note 5, which I love, but the 8 blows it away. Bigger, better screen, feels better in my hands, almost futuristic compared to the 5. A whole hell of a lot faster, better battery.

Seems like a pretty significant upgrade to me.

To expand on my earlier comments... I really dig this phone. It's like a Note 7, but BETTER.

Finally, I can move on from that double recall nightmare.

I said larger, I don't really "see" a difference in the screen, feels better in your hand, lol.
I don't concern myself with battery life, I charge my phone whenever I want. I have no need to see how long it can go on a single charge.

As I've said, I like it and have no intention of returning it. I'm just not as fascinated by it as so many people are. I don't experience the newness factor over things like others do.

It reminds me of when I had the galaxy nexus and immediately pointed out its flaws. Everyone attacked me on the forums, which of course made me laugh. 6 months later even forum mods (not here) were complaining about the very same things I complained about on day one.
It took that long for the newness factor to wear off.

It is perfectly fine with me that others love the phone, I'm not attacking anyone over their opinion, I deserve the same.

I agree with you in regards to the battery. I believe that the battery is more than sufficient for me, but I also have means to charge it periodically throughout the day when I need to. As far as any criticism of the device it isn't perfect. No smartphone will be. I believe it can be difficult for some to accept that their new smartphone they just shelled out $1000 for has flaws.

Agreed. There have been studies about how people feel after spending money on something.
The one I remember most was at a movie. Two groups saw the same movie, one group paid, the other didn't. At the end a larger percentage of those who paid liked it more than those who saw it for free.

I'm not even saying the phone is flawed nor am I in any way bashing it, I'm just saying that I am not in awe of it.
It's a nice phone, I like it, even recommended it to my brother, but I don't like it any more than I did my note 5, which I also liked.
I understand that I don't see most things the way many people see them, and I am totally ok with that.

As should others be ok with you having a differing opinion. I love my Note 8 and I'm always in awe at what it can do. And I was in awe of all the other Notes that I have gotten. But I can see them for what they are as well. These smartphones are so feature packed that it takes me a year just to be able to incorporate most of what they can do into a routine that works for me. I don't really see flaws in my Note 8. But I know that if I wanted to, I could come up with areas that could improve. But, i think that I would have to subscribe to unrealistic expectations to do so. People want the phone to never have a hiccup, but also want it to run every app on the phone simultaneously. They want the latest processor, the best camera, the largest moat pixel dense screen, and the biggest battery, but they want it to cost $650. I'm very realistic and that's why I'm wowed by what the Note offers. I have the most powerful smartphone for $1000 that augments my life in so many positive ways. And I'm still learning more and more about it. Goes without saying that I'm a happy camper.

I completely understand. I thought the note 2 was awesome.
The huge screen, multi window, the s-pen, it was great.
It was also rooted so I was able to have all apps in multi window. I am very happy we have that now without root.

Perhaps that is why I don't feel the same about my note 8 or 5 for that matter.
Or it could be that I feel phones have almost been tapped out in new tech and 1 or 2 years later I no longer see drastic improvements, and that is to be expected.
I love the note line mainly because of the s-pen. Every 2 years I look for a new phone, and I compare features, the s-pen always makes my decision easier.
