How does it do in bright sunlight?

I'm about to move from my Thunderbolt, and one of my biggest complaints was trying to use it outdoors in bright sunlight. How is the Maxx screen outdoors?

With my Ultra, if I have it on auto brightness it's terrible in direct sunlight, but if I manually turn the brightness all the way up then its just fine. I'd imagine its similar on the Maxx.

I don't know what you guys are talking about - I live in Florida, always sun, always wearing sun glasses, I use Lux for auto brightness and the Maxx screen is just fine, at least in my opinion.

I agree. I was on the golf course today in full sun and used my Maxx to track score and stats. The screen was easy to view, and it is on auto.

Same here. No issues with seeing the screen in direct sunlight.

Where in FL

It could be brighter but it's OK.

The Maxx does really well at 40% brightness in direct sunlight. My iPhone 5 and HTC One don't.

Great thread. Those of you saying that it is good in direct sunlight with auto brightness and full brightness, can you compare to the Galaxy S4, Iphone 5, HTC One, etc... ?

How is the screen for showing finger prints? I noticed my friend's Galaxy S3 hardly shows them at all compared to my OG Razr Maxx.

Mine is already on order...I am just hungry to learn as much as I can about it.

No issues here with finger prints. I'd say it is more resistant to them than my old thunderbolt. If I notice one I just wipe the screen on my shirt and poof, it's gone :)

Oh and to answer your question about comparing to other phones...unfortunately I haven't seen, in person, the ones you mentioned. I have used an S3 and I'd say the maxx is comparable, or better, in sunlight. I didn't look real close though.

Spent the entire day outside in direct sunlight. No problems at all.

I think the maxx does better in bright sunlight than my note2 did. However I will say I had an otter box on the note2 w the plastic screen cover and I'm sure that made a difference.

The maxx isn't the best I'm sure but its doable.. Better than some
