How does walking mate sync with the gear?

How does it work exactly in terms of walking mate? Can you activate it on your watch or do you still need to activate it on your phone first?

i have the walking mate always active on my phone and on the watch. on the watch you go to the pedometer hit menu and "send to s health" and it syncs with phone. i'm assuming you can sync from the phone tool.

I don't bother with counting steps with the watch,, it's not accurate. I noticed it counting steps while I was driving.

true...i don't assume either is super accurate, but gives me a ballpark on how i'm doing for the day.....

I will likely always start it with my phone but would be good to know I can start my steps with my watch instead of my phone

one more question

If I was to start walking mate with my phone would the gear start counting the steps or would I need to click something else for the watch to start the steps?

You would have to start it on the watch separate. You can then sync what's on your watch with phone, I heard. It has not worked properly for me, no matter because the watch is far from accurate when counting steps.
