How good is Samsung Internet?

Don't think I've ever really used it. I check it out each time I get a new phone but that's about it. Chrome makes so much more sense since works seamlessly with their desktop browser. I just keep it hidden on my phone. Would have to be incredible feature rich to pull me away from Chrome.

I find it feature rich for mobile browsing. Like mentioned before, and I'll try to check later since I'm traveling and no access to a desktop, you can add the Samsung extension to sync bookmarks.

I just tried to show my coworkers the greatness of Samsung browser over Chrome earlier this week so this post is timely but couldn't... thats cool because one said they don't bookmark favorites and one said the Chrome UI just works for them. But I think it does depend on if you like the UI and it works for you.

For me, just having the toolbar options on the bottom make all the difference for me. The home button at the bottom, the back button, and for me the bookmarks at the bottom... all accessible one handed. On these phones that are getting bigger and almost impossible to use one handed, having these controls on the bottom makes more sense than hitting the hamburger button on the top right corner of the screen, needing a second hand to do so, and then you have to press the bookmark option to get to your bookmarks.

It runs as fast Chrome and add my licensed Adguard adblocker for me it's the best browsing experience on mobile.

I used to use Chrome, but once I realized how good Samsung Internet was, I abandoned Chrome because it uses way more resources on the phone that Samsung Internet.

I will give it a shot and I have it rn as my default web browser ,gonna be interesting, but so far I'm a big fan of the dark mode.

I was team chrome for a while because of how it synced to my desktop. I believe I switched to the Samsung browser on my note 9. Idk why. I just tried it and stuck with it.

SIB is amazing, great UI, features is the reason why its the only browser I use.

Disable Chrome in App Settings
Install AdGuard Pro
Been on the Beta since it became available
Set Samsung Internet Beta as default

Really get a lot of use out of the 50 Quick Access site bookmarks. And they sync.

I use reader view, wish it would automatically be displayed like Safari does.

I have Edge on all my devices though I rarely use it anymore.

Excellent setup! Adguard Pro for the win! When I got my Note 8, Samsung's ads in their Samsung Store was irritating me to no end. Someone from the Note 8 forum recommended it and been using it for past 3+ years.

I found a deal for lifetime license (2 Android and 1 PC) for $30 and the best $30 I've spent for Android. Google once in a while and you can find deal.

On Android, you go to sites like Yahoo! home page and see those annoying ads in background when scrolling... all gone with Adguard. Ads in apps (not just browser) like in Samsung Store... gone! Actually Samsung once in a while still slips one in there but I think Adguard keeps updating to keep fighting them but nice that they will block ads in apps too. Has made browsing an much more enjoyable experience.

I always recommend people to give it a try if they have an android (You have to side load it from their website. The Google Play version only blocks ads on browsers.)

I use it on my iPad 11" Pro (iOS version only blocks in Safari) and on PCs I actually just use the Adguard browser extension over the full version. The PC full version can be too agressive in blocking.

Update to Samsung's Internet Browser made me think of this past post and wanna say... One of the few software apps they've developed that's a real gem is SIB. I mean after a few years they usually abandon their software projects but they still keep at it with SIB. Something simple as adding the copy url button to the right of the URL bar just adds to an already better experience than Chrome. Nice addition to little things like the Quick Access dropdown when you press on the URL bar.

As well as the super functional menu bar at the bottom where most everything is at your reach with one hand... maybe two if out of reach. Where with Chrome you definitely have to use two hands with everything still at the top in the days of tall phones (??!!) to access extra features.

I just realized with SIB, when you have multiple tabs, you just need to swipe left or right at the bottom menu bar to go from one tab to another.... with one hand! With Chrome... seems like a multi-press task. It could be I'm not knowing of a tip or trick so if someone wants to share that's cool.

Just wanted to revive this thread and spread the word of SIB. Hate to see it go the way of the do-do... Samsung S-Voice, Samsung Cloud... What's next... Samsung... Bixby??
