How good is the dac vs. USB-C adapters?

The dac on the V30 is superb. Here's how I found out. No doubt, if you're a music lover, you've heard of precision stereo by McIntosh. They are one of the oldest stereo manufacturers in the world and, to this day, they still handcraft all their components in their Binghamton, N. Y. FACTORY. I'm fortunate enough to own a vintage Mac system. They just put out a headphone dac-amp that costs $700.00. When I emailed them to ask if it would improve the sound on my V30, I received an email back from an engineer that said, after looking at the specs of the LG V30 dac and amp setup, we at Mcintosh concluded that the 32bit ESS quad dac in the V30 is better than the one in our new dac. That's how good the V30 dac is. Remember this is coming from an engineer at Mcintosh, makers of the best stereo components in the world.

Right you are. They give free tours. You can actually talk to any employee you want. Then they show you their ultimate system. The price? $350,000.00. With a mac, you only need to buy once. I've had my MA 6100 integrated amp since 1976. I paid 649.00 for it then. I've been offered in excess of 1200.00 for it. I'll never sell. How many times has it been serviced? NEVER. Buy the way, it will still outperform anything the Japanese can put out today in its class.

What valves are you using?

Nope. This was one of their first 100% solid state amps. God, I should have known what you meant. British?
Ahh, OK. I'm not British, but I've used Mullard original and reissue EL34 and 12AX7 in the amps I own (not McIntosh). The reissue are made in Russia, but use this logo.
