How has your note 4 performance changed over time?

I'm looking for into getting either the note 5 or the S7, and I was wondering if I can expect a drastic improvement in day to day performance from that of the note 4.

I don't think anyone knows exactly how the S7 will perform in comparison to the Note 4, since it's not out yet, but I would assume that both phones perform at least a little better than the Note 4 since both phones have newer technology.

As for the performance of the Note 4, I've had mine close to a year. Can't really say I've experienced a significant loss in performance. Obviously the phone was super fast out of the box and it has been bogged down a little bit as I keep adding apps and using it, but it's still a beast and runs like a dream.

Good points. I'd honestly be fine with keeping my note 4 for another year, it's still super fast and rarely slows down (especially after the 5.1.1 update) but I'm really interested to see what the S7 has to offer, and I want to downsize to a smaller screen size, since using this phone one handed can be a bit cumbersome at times.

There are select times that I curse my Note 4 for being so big, but all in all it hasn't proven to be a burden for me.

I just played around with an S7 at my local Best Buy yesterday. It's a sweet looking phone, no doubt. I'd probably get it if I wasn't addicted to the S Pen.

They're also giving away a free VR if you pre-order the S7. I played around with that thing too and it was pretty sweet, but I think it gave me vertigo. Lol

Despite the laggy performance issues of the Note 4, I still believe it's one of the best over-all devices. I might keep it after the Note 6 arrives. Just wish the laginess could be sorted out.

My note 4 was better in the beginning but wth the addition of so many apps and filling it up with so much stuff, it slowed. It's still a solid device. A faster processor would have given this device probably another year of hard use.

If you like the Note series just wait for the Note 6. If you want to keep the screen size but move to a newer phone, not including the Note 5, you can always go with the S7 Edge. If you don't mind a smaller screen, and don't mind the lack of an S-pen, go ahead with the S7. I'm sure it's a fantastic device.

I had the second gen note 4 on TMO, the T3 model. It was excellent untill TMO released the 5.1.1 for the first gen units, Mine shipped with 5.1.1 But with that said when TMO pushed out the 5.1.1 update for the first gen units, it also released an update for the T3 units that added their advanced messaging. Since then my unit has been slightly laggy, most noticeably when i am unlocking the screen, theres a slight delay. Also the stock messaging app is sluggish.
Other then that its been a great phone.
