Got the Nexus 6 from Google play, and it updated to 5.1.1 build version LYM47D. According to the Google folks and Verizon build LYM47E is required for the Verizon network.
Since I'm not well versed in flashing software versions I figured I'd try skipping it, and just bullied Verizon into giving me a simcard without activating (which they said would be impossible using LYM47D). I took the card home, installed it, and called the customer support who activated the device over the phone no problem.
My question is this: would I benefit at all from getting the correct build version at this point? Could it possibly improve radio communication with network? Because as of now the "signal standby" is using the vast majority of my battery, and this device is getting WAY worse cell and LTE reception than my old droid razrmaxx
Any help would be very appreciated, thanks!
