I'm starting to get sick of the lag and preloaded apps on my X2 and was wondering how the Gingerbreak root was working on your X2's. How is the performance of the device? Are there any problems with it? Can I still get updates from Verizon/Motorola if I root? I also have some questions about some issues I've been having with my X2....Will rooting using this method stop Go Launcher from reloading every time I exit an app? Also, a minor complaint I have, when pressing the power button to awake it from sleep the phone flashes the home page or app I was in last then locks like it was suppose to. It doesn't do this every time, just enough to get annoying.. will Gingerbreak fix this as well??? All comments are welcome!!!!!!!!

iv noticed a big performance difference. Had no problems so far. Go launcher works 100%, im using it with no problem. I think we can still get updates but not so sure.

Thank you for the reply! That's exactly what I wanted to hear.

I really need to know before I do this if I can still get updates, such as the official Gingerbread update. If I can't, will there be issues down the road?

Re: How is Gingerbreak Working??

I rooted (with Gingerbreak) and still have this issue:

"when pressing the power button to awake it from sleep the phone flashes the home page or app I was in last then locks like it was suppose to. It doesn't do this every time, just enough to get annoying."

I'm still within the 14 day purchase period, so I may go in for an exchange...

Wish I was, I might too. How about the lag between home screens? Is that still there? Redrawing of widgets/apps as well?

Re: How is Gingerbreak Working??

No lag between screens or any of the other issues you mentioned...

Re: How is Gingerbreak Working??

I have had the x2 for about 3 weeks now. I have used gingerbreak to root and I have (frozen) all bloatware. I have installed the v6 supercharge script and all I can say is wow! After all this this phone shows its true potential of the dual core processor. Although its still not to its full potential yet, to me this is the best phone I have ever used. Its way faster than my DROID X.

no battery seems normal to me. i think anyone with battery drain with the v6 script has a bad phone or didnt do something right. my phone last me about 2 days with adequate texting and usage. i use juice defender ultimate and it does its job!

what option did you do?

If you are rooted can you still get updates?

yes you can still get app updates and OTA updates if your rooted. But if you freeze any bloatware or have deleted any bloatware you must either unfreeze the bloatware or since the sbf is out, i would sbf back to stock and then OTA. if anyone has any questions just ask.

I rooted with Gingerbreak 10 minutes out of the box.. No problems at all.
Using Go Launcher and frozen all the bloat. Phone is fast as ever and stable.
Using tasker to auto connect to my home and work wireless I've managed to get 2 days between charges with moderate usage. Love the phone!
