How is the Camera/Flashlight compared to the 1st Gen Moto G?

I have currently 1st gen 8gb moto g with cracked screen Time for upgrade..thinking about the new released moto g but wondering how is the camera quality compared to 1st gen which was total crap? Also is the flashlight brighter than for the 1st gen since it has dualflash?and about how much brighter is it?

The new version is way better than the previous one in almost all the ways.... And talking about the camera, the lens used is of nexus 6. I agree that it didn't had a camera like S6, iPhone 6 but still it's a flagship so just imagine the camera quality and flash is bright enough to click a pic of dark room like a room with bright lights turned on.

Thats the main selling point on phone for me that it has good flashlight.

I can't compare since I don't have the first gen, but the new model does have two flash LEDs, so that alone should make it significantly brighter than the first model.

yup I noticed that it has 2 so should be maybe brighter, anyway the 1st gen is pretty bright but was wondering how is this gen with dual flash.
If anyone has the both to compare would be great if could chime in.

Dude I have the 1st Gen n 3rd gen. I would recommend you to immediately buy the 3rd gen if u have the means!!
Don't get stuck on small things. It is better in all respects than 1st Gen. Other than the missing notification lights if u r used to it like I was..
As for the brightness of the torch, I remember moto g 2013 torch was a bit too bright, this flash/torch is much better balanced. However I will do a test tonight n let u know the results.

I have cracked screen for my 2013 moto g but it still runs fine, at least I dont have to worry about dropping it anymore or just loose it somewhere.

Ok.. I did the test and the moto g 2015 torch is a definite improvement. Not only is the G3 flash brighter, it also has a softer light which is not unpleasant for the person you are photographing.

Ok Finally Bought a 3rd Gen Moto g, new for £74
First the Flashlight Isn't really any brighter than for the 1st generation
-camera seems better than for 1st gen, but haven't yet fully tested,but it certainly isn't anything super good.
However I have to say the sizes Fkin SUUCKS compared to the 1st generation, not as easy to hold in hands as 1st gen.
also the sound is much more terrible than that of a 1st gen
The rest including the design I like.


To Sumarize, if you also like the size of the 1st gen it's not worth to upgrade as there are almost no improvements, however i cracked screen for mine so wanted something that isn't smashed.. But for £74 what I paid for it , it certainly is a good value and it's rather snappy as well even with only the 1gb ram.

Europe is about 4 weeks behind if you look at previous upgrades... Watch for news of the upgrade hitting Poland, usually starts there for some reason.
