1 year or 2? Waiting for the next V30 or G7? Or will you keep it for a long time and then pry open the back panel to change the battery if needed to?

1 year maybe 2 years depends how G7 is ..or maybe how s9 or nokia flagship phone..for now very happy with G6

I plan to keep it for at least a year. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the G7, hopefully it keeps the flat screen.

This is my first LG phone and I really like it. I will keep and eye out for the G7. Also, might go with a G6 plus, and give my wife the G6. Her Samsung is starting to age.

I had planned to keep my G5 but then the great BOGO deal came up for G6 and I updated my phones for total of $120 for both. Will plan for 2 years but if another great deal comes up on say G7, bye bye G6. 😎

Since I'm pretty poor I tend to hold on to a phone until I have it so full of stuff and the battery power is so diminished that I can barely use it any more. For me that takes between 2 - 2.5 years in general. Right now I love my G6 but have never had a phone that didn't gradually deteriorate (LG, Samsung, and Nokia phones in my past). The G6 is my first one with 32GB internal memory and it doesn't seem to have the problem android invented of refusing to move apps to the SD card. With the 128GB SD card I have, hopefully space won't become an issue for a long long time if ever. However, I do remember having a discussion with colleagues back in the 90s about PCs, where someone said "Can you imagine having a whole GIGABYTE?" Lol... So no matter how much space I think I have, I'll probably fill it up. But yeah, this fabulous little phone will be with me for a while, and I feel like it's one of my better choices considering my history.

The G6 did it right this time. Though no removable, it is much better than the G5. Lol I remember the 90's... Using floppy disks that only had 1.44 MB. Had to use multiple disks to install a DOS game. Couldn't even fit an MP3 in one.

I don't know. I'm on the fence. I like the phone well enough, but only got it because my Nexus 6P had a severely degraded battery, and because of a significant discount from AT&T.

My G6 tends to struggle more with network connection than I'm used to. And the battery is very hit and miss. Some days I get phenomenal battery life. Most days, it's middling. And the speaker is awful. I'm also having Bluetooth issues.

But, there are positives to it. I like the camera. Waterproofing makes it better.

I guess it depends on what Google does. I'll probably stick with it until March or April and swap. But, it's certainly a good backup phone for me.

I like it and will likely hang on to it, however I don't expect it to remain my primary device for long. I am very disappointed in the speed of security updates for their flagship device and I really want something larger. Other than that it is a fantastic device especially for the price. I am hoping that the Pixel XL 2 is more impressive than its predecessor.

Only if you could swap batteries. The Nexus 6P was a really good phone!

I'm likely keeping it until the new Nexus device or iPhone if it wows me. I liked a lot of the iOS 11 improvements and I have a ton of Apple products that play super nice with each other. But it will likely be the Nexus.

I'm planning about 1 year. But man I love this phone. I was at a water park today here in so-Cal and my 1 year old was playing with my G6 in the kiddie area, in and out of the water and fountains. Others looked on either in disbelief or had their waterproof pouches around their necksThose wide-angle shots and videos and IP68 make this phone something else. And that I paid $99 for it (after Sprint credits and promos)? How is this not the best phone available? :-)

Well if my daughter's G6 holds out...

She'll have it for a while lol. I upgraded from the G3 too my Moto X Pure (great phone). In the same time she has had 3 G4S the G5 and now the G6.

So far the G6 has been a stellar phone. The simplicity of use, the quality design and materials used. The aspect ratio and the ergonomics of the button placements, it just works well.

That and I get the next upgrade lol. It's my turn

Since I am still using my Nexus 5, which I got when it first came out, I'll probably hold on to this one for 3 years or so. The Nexus 5 still works well, but starting to slow down with all the updates, and the wireless charging is now hit or miss. It was made by LG as well so I'm sure I'll be happy with the G6 which should reach me by the end of the week.

PS: My sister-in-law and brother-in-law are still using the Samsung Galaxy Nexus phones my wife and I gave them when we got our Nexus 5 phones. A lot depends on how you treat them. Bought them new batteries this year and they are still running fine.

I have a galaxy Nexus that i can't update.. sucks.

Well, my time with the device was cut short. I plugged it into the charger at about midnight heading into July 4th. When I got up to go to work about 4 hours later, it was a brick. Wouldn't acknowledge a charger (tried 4 of them, including a wireless charger), no Bluetooth connection, couldn't get the phone to power cycle, and couldn't wipe my data. I was not happy. That device was less than a month old.

So, I got ahold of AT&T and purchased an S8 Plus. I would have rather had something with a flat screen, but after having an LG G3 with the bootloop issue and then this with my G6, I'm done with LG.

It's unfortunate. But, I hope y'all enjoy the device.

That is unfortunate! However, welcome to the S8+ club! :)
