How long does the batter on your Note 4 work when used for tethering a laptop?

I'm on Att btw... how many hours will the battery last approximately do you thiink?

Do you think the Note 4 works fine for tethering or better to get a hotspot thingie so the phone won't die out

It depends what you're using. If you're tethering and just using webpage it won't use as much as streaming video since that will keep the connection active more. How do you use your hotspot?

I would be using it for surfing/using a webpage; no streaming at all.
Editing and building new pages in Wordpress or Orchard CMS mainly etc. Don't think that would use a lot of resources?
