For my Samsung devices i always turn it on... Not sure if its good but no issues so far.

I bought mine unlocked from Samsung directly and never had this option on my carrier versions of the note.

Why do you want to turn it off ? It is not running in the background only when you click scan.

In order to protect it has to be active and running.

McAfee is a lot more trustworthy than what they use to have to offer. But, no I don't think it is needed or wanted. If I did, I'd first turn to Malwarebytes and AdGuard Pro.

Clearing memory on a 8-12GB RAM phone?

The option isn't on my t-mobile. During setup I told not to do McAfee..Did you? If not wonder if it is the McAfee and you have to disable it?

This will deactivate it
Go settings >top search bar type device security scroll to end of the list and tap , clear its data,/cache and force stop it .
