how long has your battery lasted F-E

A someone said earlier, depends on usage. I use this one the same I did my Evo. I can say, without a doubt, this Epic is much, much better. I had to charge the EVO daily, every 24 hrs. The Epic has held a charge twice that long. I charged it the first night I got it (tue) and it hasn't needed a recharge yet. I am at 35% right now. I have no complaints at all.

I unplugged mine at 5:45 this morning. I got 9 hours of usage out of it before plugging it in. But that's only because I wanted to have the phone charged up before my bus ride home. It'd be a long bus ride home without it. If I had let it go I think I could've gotten at least another hour out of it. And that was streaming about 2 hours worth of audio, sending/receiving a dozen or so text messages and downloading and installing several apps. And an hour of the streaming audio was over 4g while the other was over 3g.

Overall, it beats the pants off my Pre. I was lucky to get more than 5 hours with my pre if tried actually doing anything with it.

When it got low yesterday, I managed to pretty much make the battery invncible by turning off bt, gps, wifi and updates. I also used juicedefender to turn off 3G while the display was off.

Its nice to know that you can put it in dumbphone mode at around a 15 or 20 % charge and know that it will still be able to run the rest of the day.

Do you have Background Data and Auto-Sync off?

For those doing comparisons with the EVO, battery life should be about the same. Laptop Mag ran some tests and found the Epic 4G to get about 5-ish more minutes of life which is pretty negligible. It's a shame too after all hoopla we heard about AMOLED being a energy saver. The processor is 45nm too, with a different display it could have possibly matched the Droids.

guess depends what you do on it, right?

i'm getting really good battery life (i think)...especially when comparing to the Pre i had....

unplugged at 100% when i left work and basically did 75min of youtube straight on the busride home...all in 3g coverage.... was at 70% batt life left....

I have not received my epic from amazon yet but I have a battery story. Normally my touchpro 2 battery easily lasts through the day- however the last 2 days I have been at a conference and been constantly following the progress here and XDA (especially with rooting)-guess what! Both days my battery has been at 40% by noon and dead on the train ride home!! Use the phone enough and your battery life will suffer!

i can say i always use batteries quickly. i have a charger at my house, in my vehicle and at work, just to be on the safe side. hate to go with out battery.

i have not been able to go 4 or 5 hours on a battery in years, since before my ppc6700

Yup 4 hours was pretty typical for me of heavy-usage on any mobile device, my Pre was hitting exactly that on the stock battery. Seidio saved the day with their massive brick battery for that one but this phone is already kind of big, I may end up just plugging it in all that more often :P

I thought Juice Defender needed root?

My battery is not that great. My screen is on the lowest possible setting. Does anyone else have any tips of things people may or may not notice when it comes to extending battery life?

Do the live wallpapers kill battery?

Thanks

Battery life is not bad at all for me, but I'm going to my third Epic tomorrow as my phone had some screen separation issues.

Battery life on mine is not too bad, what I have noticed is the battery seems to charge to 95% only, have not seen 100% yet. Anyone else has noticed this?

anyone who has an epic must be aware the brighter the colors are that u view on the epic the more battery will be used. The biggest case in point is web browsing since most websites have white backgrounds.

On the first day it died pretty quickly. yesterday it lasted abit longer. this was all with very little use during the day , at about 5pm when i got home had less then 40% but the phone worked all the way till o% cycled thur 2 full charges and dead phone. today during the day i used it pretty heavy. used gps for 20 mins , played some games checked emails and a few text. Payed pandora and phone held up pretty good. lossed about 30% . I added a battery wigit and the bar at the top shows full and my led light is blue but the wigit would mark 97%. today i saw it mark 100%. ill do the same for a few my drains and full charges.

If you're using Fring, get it off your epic. I did that and my battery today when I got off of work was at 65%. Yesterday it was below 15% in a shift that was 2 less hours. I'm still on my phone now, almost 20 hours off the charger (talking on the phone as I type this on my computer). It seems to have helped greatly in charge time as last night I killed the phone around 5AM and when I woke up at 9am, it was fully charged.

Some apps just SAP the power. World War is a fun game- but something about refreshing status like that with all those players (like a turn based MMO strategy game) kills my battery. Don't ever leave that game running in the background ugh!
