How long have you been trying to join Fi after receiving invite?

Hello all, I'm just curious how long everyone else had to fight to get switched over to fi. I got my invite 6 months ago and have finally gotten a nexus 6 64gb two weeks ago, but now google still doesn't have sim card kits. Anyone else wasted a half a year or having this level of frustration? How many fi converts have they lost to the endless waiting and struggling to join up?
