How Long Should I Expect My GNex Battery to Last Before It Stops Holding a Charge?

I know these lithium-ion batteries don't last forever but how long can I expect one to last before it stops holding a charge? And am I correct in thinking that they age even if I don't use them much?

The more you discharge and recharge it the faster it ages, should last 2 years at least but it all depends on the usage

I only get about 15 hours out of a standard battery and about 20 hours out of an extended battery sometimes less :(

I have 4 GNex Li-ion batteries. I primarily have been using my 2 standard batteries but I occasionally charge and use my 2 extended batteries because I was under the impression that they will lose charge if they are not used and that it is not good to let them discharge fully so I throw them in the charger every now and then and use them and then charge them again before I store them. I also have read it is best to store them at 50% charge but I am not sure why or even if that is accurate.

Would it be better for me to rotate use of all 4 of my batteries to extend the period of time that I can go before I will need new batteries? Or is it better to do as I am doing now - primarily use the 2 standard batteries, occasionally use the extended batteries and then once the standard batteries no longer hold a charge, toss them and only use the extended batteries?

I really wouldn't stress about it if they feel they are dropping in holding a charge in a year throw them out if not keep doing what your doing just don't let batteries sit unused at fully discharged.. Don't let batteries completely discharge at all is what I do but it's nothing to worry about just do what's easiest for you

It is hard to tell if they are not holding a charge when the operating system keeps updating and I add apps that run in the background. I am not sure if it is the battery or the new features of the OS/apps using more battery juice.

Generally they last about two years but it's a don't care because the replacement batteries are so cheap. The 3800ma batteries are only $20 and they last twice as long as the standard battery.
