I got my Xoom back yesterday, but it currently says it has no internet connection at all when I turn off WiFi. I followed the instructions that were in the package of turning it off, removing the SIM, and turning it back on, but still nothing has happened. I do have a 3G plan already, so I should be getting at least that, but right now I am getting nothing at all. Is this normal? The paper says I may have to wait a few hours, but it's been nearly 26 hours. I'm guessing the problem is is that it just needs to be fully activated, but I don't know how to do that.

Mine took less than 5 minutes after booting up to activate 4G. I would suspect something else is wrong and I'd call Verizon.

I had this same issue and ended up calling Verizon to find out that my 4G SIM was not activated on their network - took about 10-15 minutes on the phone with them.

After waiting 1 hour without 4G, I did what the instructions said. I turned the Xoom off. Removed and replaced the 4G sim card. Then turned the Xoom back on. After booting up I then saw the 4G symbol.

I went by a local Verizon store when I had no 4G service. They replaced and reactivated my sim card. That fixed my issue.

Sent from my Xoom 4G

My 4G card didn't activate automatically, so after 3-4 hours I called Verizon support. They activated the card number and told me to wait another 2-3 hours. Well, about 3 hours later the Xoom finally became connected.

Yep, this has been a frustrating experience, but now that it's done, I still appreciate the Xoom and am glad I got rid of my iPad for the Xoom. That being said, I would never buy another Motorola or Verizon product with a promised update (especially hardware involved).

Now, I'll start thinking about getting rid of my original Droid and get a Bionic...

I got a SIM error after initial boot. I then turned off, re-seatted the SIM and booted. SIM activated almost instantly.

Same issue for me. I ended up caliing them and they had to activate the sim. My call took a half hour because the first rep was clueless. Its been smooth sailing ever since.
