How low can you go? (with chargers)

I have a 90-watt multi-port charger in my home that is configured with two Type C ports (60w 18w) and two USB A ports (12 watts shared between them). If both C ports are occupied, is it safe to plug my Pixel 7 Pro into one of those USB-A ports to charge (USB-A to C cable)? It would be 12 watts (or less).

It does say it's charging when plugged into one of those A ports. And, it charges.

I understand phones adjust to high-power chargers (only pull what they need), but I have never wondered if it's too low for a healthy charge, until now.

Thanks!

It should be totally fine. Obviously, the charging rate will be lower, but if you're not in a rush, then no problem.

Thanks guys! Now I know both ends - high-wattage chargers and low-wattage chargers.

I can understand you wanting to ensure the health of your new phone's battery. And now that phones don't automatically come with chargers, I imagine other users will have similar questions and concerns.

I am trying this time. Not charging to 100% when I don't need it. Not letting it drop below 20%. I have AccuBatery set off its alarm when my phone hits 85%. Slower charging overnight. Rapid charges during the day if needed.

Everyone has different needs though.

Fyi, a lot of charging stations don't deliver full power when every port is occupied. So just check your charging station manual to see what to expect if you do use multiple ports at once.

Maybe if you charged to 100% overnight you wouldn't need to charge during the day LOL. Not sure why people get so crazy about charging My 5-year-old phone has had less charge but is not life-changing and if you are on a phone forum chances are you swap phones out way faster than the battery life will be the end of life

You went from the Pixel 6 to 7 how much did the daily battery life change?

That sounds like a good strategy!

But that takes the joy out of the game. ;)
