It will be pre-charged to about 50% or so. At least, most devices usually are. So I'd suggest letting it charge for an addition 30 minutes to an hour and and start it up.

I see no need to charge it if it's already at 50% (+/-) out of the box. Just use it for the day and charge when you go to bed assuming you aren't a power user and plow through the battery earlier.
