How much faster is the Shift?

I'm trying to decide between the Evo and the Evo Shift. I know that Shift has a faster/more powerful processor, but how does that translate into real use? How much faster does the Shift seem when doing normal day-to-day activities?

Never used the EVO, but I'm going to guess that the user experience would be about the same. Shift has the 2nd generation processor, but the EVO is 1.0 gHZ compared to the Shift at 800 mHz.

Shift beats the EVO slightly in the quadrant test, for what that's worth.

I bet for everything except gaming it would be the same. For games like Dungeon Hunter or other more graphically intense games the Shift would probably do better because it has a better GPU but I don't have experience with an Evo. I just know pretty much everyone who has one is happy with it.

With the minimal use I got on my familys evos when they had them I wold say slight slower then the shift. But low enough to care or really notice? No. Honestly if it comes down to the two, then it really needs to be about which one fits you best. Ill say my old epic vs evo tagline: if you want a keyboard get the shift (used to say epic here) if you want a bigger phone and like virtual get the og evo. Both are running the same software and are pretty similar is speed so its all feel from there.

sphinxx,

since you mentioned you had an epic - how do you compare real life speed between the epic and your shift - or if you could point me to a link where you compare on your cross over - thanks!
