How much is the camera worth

I know that in this forum people are most likely to be biased towards the Pixle 3, but I'd still like some perspectives here.

I need a phone with a really good camera. Budget matters, but I have some flexibility. Schedule is a bit of an issue as well, as the person really needs a phone, but she can use her person for a bit if it's REALLY going to make a difference.

One of the key advantages to me of the Pixel phone cameras is that they are GREAT cameras, and they are consistent - even reviewers who criticize various aspects of the camera all agree that you just don't get bad pictures from these phones.

Given all this, does it make sense to wait for the Pixel 3, buy a Pixel 2 or go with something like the Samdung Galaxy 9, which is current and shipping?

They take top notch pictures, probably the best. Video on the other hand I've found off and on. I go to a lot of concerts and like to record key songs to share with my friends. The video can be hit or miss during the same video recording but concerts are usually in low light so that may be a factor. I don't have experience with other phone cameras in this setting so I'm not sure this will help much.

The one improvement this year is that Pixel phones should now be able to record in stereo instead of mono. We shall see how it goes. Sorry I didn't really answer your question.

s9 has a solid camera especially in lowlights. it won't get updated fast and u might not like their skin on Android but you'll be able to get deals on it

the pixel 2 very solid camera in all condition will be cheaper then 3

pix3 is new guy on the block , camera is expected to the best that already was said for pix 2 but higher price .

budget 2 or s9 be the choice
but the pix 2 is more complete camera in all conditions the s9 will give better video and low light..
