How much ram in the archos 101??

Been all over the internet trying to get an exact # on this but keep coming up short...how much RAM is in the archos 101?!?

I just bought one today, and so far I'm pretty daggone happy with it out of the box.

The packaging says it's got 8GB, but I'm looking at the device right now, and total formatted internal storage is 6.94GB.
