How often do you check security updates?

I know that my carrier will push out a notice when an update is available, but I check once a month any way.
I come to this site often enough so that I will know when an update is coming.

If I do check its the 12th day of the month,or a day or two after then.
Sometimes don't even check just noticed its been pushed to my phone, and just install it.

Either when I get a notification that it's ready or when I hear reports that the patch is rolling out.

I am running PureNexus. I have to pay attention to when the new version is announced and flash it myself. Like davidnc, I check about the 10th or so.

I usually just install them OTA when they are available.

I always checked when I had my Nexus 7 rooted, since I needed to unroot and flash stock. I ended up keeping it stock now, since the monthly security updates made it a hassle to flash it every month, and I'd rather just get the OTA updates.

i have avast antivirus and anyi theft security. its 40$ per year but its awesome especially if you dont want your new expensive ohine stolen. has tracking alarm everything yiu could want and scans automatically every 4 hours. :)

No, I never check. It's just not something I worry about. Android being built on Linux is already quite secure by design. In fact research has shown you have a greater chance of being hit by lightning than to get any kind of malware on Android (assuming you stick to the Play Store and don't side load apps from untrusted places).

Good to know :)
