How often do you replace your phone?

I replace my phone every 2-3 years. Indeed, the phone price is really high ... But if I could, I would change every year :p

I got a Droid X when I got my first smartphone in July, 2010.

I was eligible for an upgrade a year later, the good 'ol days, and was intrigued about finally getting a Nexus on Verizon, so it was easy to upgrade 16 months later to a Verizon Galaxy Nexus in December, 2011.

I kept that phone for almost 2 years and was happy, but it was getting slower and lagging. I was going to purchase my next device off contract, since I wanted to keep the Nexus experience on Verizon.

In November 2013, I got a slightly used Nexus 7 for $300, since the 2013 Moto X Developer Edition was still $550-$600.

Then in July/2014, Moto offered their 2013 Developer Edition for around $345 new, tax and shipping included. I got it because of the price and the Nexus 7 was a little big to use as a daily driver.

I'd still be using my Moto X DE, if not for the Nexus 6. It was Verizon compatible. I got it from TMO and they ultimately gave me $350 that I applied to pay pay off the device, getting for roughly 50% off

If the 2015 Nexus is Verizon compatible, I'll probably get it sometime in 2016, when the price drops. Otherwise, my Nexus 6 can easily be good for another couple years.

It would probably be more expensive if I was on a GSM carrier, since they offer more choices. However, Verizon is more locked down, so any upgrade from my Nexus 6 would have to be easily rootable with an unlocked bootloader--i.e-another Nexus.

I try to replace once a year, because I´m getting bored with old devices.

Now I have a WP from September'14 and now Im looking for a new Android Device.

Every 2-3.5 years, around that time they start to present serious problems...
It´s incredible how bad can be they disigned taking into account that a computer may last around 7-12 for normal people.
Or the people that change them every year just to have a new one...

Usually once a year for me. From August 2013 until August 2014 I used the Samsung Galaxy Express from At&t. Great phone. Then I switched to T-Mobile and bought the GS3. Unfortunately, it would continuously give me issues, glitches and just really didn't hold up over time. So I bought the S5. I'm hoping it'll last me a good full year at least.

Hey guys which one is better zenfone 2 or nexus 5, I am planning to purchase a new phone within this week.

I look to replace a phone every two years.

The phone normally still works, but has reached it's limit.

e.g. My LG Viewty lasted roughly two years. But, I could only just about access the website version of Facebook - which often had problems.

Then, I bought a Galaxy Ace - which was great for the first 6 months. Then, I downloaded Facebook and Angry Birds and it started lagging like crazy. I downloaded Jetpack Joyride and it broke the phone - so I had to send it away to get fixed. I downloaded Facebook and Jetpack Joyride - broke again. Sent it away. Downloaded Facebook and Twitter. But, by this time the updates for both took up so much memory.

Now, I'm using a Moto G 4G. Which is a great phone. I've had it since November and apart from a couple of shaky moments. It has worked fine. Nothing a turn-off-and-on-again won't fix.

I'm not a massive fan of replacing things. I've had my PC for like 10 years and I replace my trainers once a year. :p

Well last year I had 8 phones, so far this year I am on my 3rd and hope to keep my S6 for a while. On average I do buy 5+ phones a year when the latest comes along I always have to get the new toy. That is what I love about the trade up options from the carrier (or I pay it off and sell it outright) just depends.

I normally switch often looking for that one holy grail of a phone. I'm trying to kick the habit and hopefully I can settle in with the Nexus.

I buy another when needed.
Since LTE radio are changing a lot more my hand has been forced.

I guess 18 months currently. I buy outright in the UK.

I had a Galaxy S2 for 18 months, it was a steal nib with a separate cheap sim contract as the S3 had been out a while.

I bought an Amazon Note 3 nib via ebay at a great price for the time in December 13.
I am currently disappointed the Note 4 has not dropped at all in stores, and the few deals on eBay / Amazon look dodgy.
I may go to a 24 month contract, but the S6 still works out cheaper than the Note 4!

Like Raddichio, prior to the S2 I had a Sony Ericsson P910i for 7+ years, though it had a few body doubles as I really bought 7 of them after the first one, at a good exchange store chain.

It's like the classic British comedy series Kevin Oates will know. One of the main characters, road sweeper Trigger, boasts in a bar he has proudly had the same street brush for 9 (?) years.
Stunned and impressed, his wheeler dealer friends ask how can it still be fit for purpose.
It works just like new says Trigger, and I've only had to change the broom handle 12 times, and the brush only 25 times.

1-2 years
Every time I look for a new phone, I think, try Apple this time? But Android always wins at lats.
