How to add/delete contacts in Gmail app

Am I just completely oblivious?

All I want is to add an email address and delete another one. Is there no way to access the address book in the Gmail app?

I already entered/deleted the addresses on my computer in Gmail, but it doesn't show up on my phone.

This should be the simplest thing in the world to do, no?

When did you do this and how long did you wait? By default, the phone will not sync at night, this can be changed in the power saver settings of the phone. (Me, I don't care how much power it needs at night, it's plugged into the charger overnight.) It's also possible to force the phone to sync the contacts/calendar, though a third party app is needed to trigger it (I use a toggle in Widgetsoid).

yea ive usually either edited the gmail contacts on the computer or done it through the contacts list then let it sync at a later time.
