How to add subfolders to email

I did have sub-folders previously on my Samsung S3 but had to do a reset on my phone due to some other email issues.
I now am not able to add sub-folders while viewing my emails.....are there any suggestions?

Are you using Gmail or the stock email app?
If Gmail, if I remember correctly, I had to go to the website to setup new folders, so that would also be the place to see if you can create subfolders. (Really annoying that you can't manage something this simple in the app)
If the stock email app - sorry, I haven't used that, so I can't help you out.

I use the standard mail app for my work outlook email, and yahoo mail. In both cases, it mirrors the folder structure of the primary email source, just like GMail.

It's a pity you couldn't have detailed mirrors, primary sources and how to create sub folders in-depth like the headache story.
