How to backup with sd card?

How do you backup a rom without having an external sd card? It says with Rom manager the sd card must be mounted to backup, but in other cases where I've "moved an application to sd" it was just being moved into my larger internal storage media area.. Any advice? I haven't installed any roms, running stock currently.

I don't know about CWR, but if you use Safestrap Recovery, it lets you choose if you want to backup (and restore) to internal memory or to the SD card. Safestrap is a much better recovery IMHO anyway.

However, be careful to remove any CWR and any bootstrapper that you have installed already - you cannot have two bootstrappers at once.
