How to block a new number

So, you want to block a number that is spam and had not yet called you until recently? If you tap on the call in the call log, do you not have an option to block and report as spam? You could always create a "blocked" contact and keep adding additional numbers to it, then select in the contact menu to send calls directly to voicemail.
