Android Central Question

There dn appear to be a simple fix in the settings for something like some earlier phones. I want to block others from seeing my phone number at time. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

  1. Open the phone app
  2. Click the 3 dots and Settings
  3. Click on More Settings
  4. Click on "Show my caller ID"

Best I found with Google,

Go into My Verizon, Profile & Settings, Manage Share Name ID.

With that option, you can have the caller ID of the person you're calling display whatever you choose ie: Wireless, Private etc.

You have to go to Verizon's webpage and request that your number be blocked for everyone. This is very inconvenient but is the only way I've found to block my number on the Note 9. On my Blackberry I can do this from the phone.

Yes, you have to go to the Verizon website and set the option to block your caller ID for all calls. It's under the plan menu and then blocks.

Within the Phone app click on the three dots in the top right corner and go to settings.
This will take you to "Call Settings" where you need to select Supplementary Services.
Within Supplementary Services you'll find:
- Show caller ID
Tap on show caller ID and you'll see the option to "Hide number".
BTW other options you'll find under Supplementary Services are:
- Call forwarding
- Call barring
- Call waiting
and
- Fixed dialing numbers
- Fi
