[How to] Boot directly into red Clockworkmod Recovery**UPDATED 02/20/11**

Shark, so why would we need Rom Manager if we can now just use the power button to get in to recovery? I know there is some different stuff in there for download but isnt it incompatable with the EB01 build? Just wandering, also I went through your process prior to the 20th, but if I intend on deleting Rom Manager do i need to worry about anything else? Thanks for all you do here on AC!

I think more and more people are coming to the conclusion they no longer need Rom Manager. I deleted it and I deleted the recovery-update file from my clockworkmod folder. DroidXcon and I are trying to figure out a solution, but if you read the update I placed at the top of the OP, it should explain it. And you're welcome.

hey shark. thanks for the write up and i understand the idea of not having to go through the blue txt screen, but it seems that you are still have`n some troubles with it, or so it sounds, so is it really necessary to really do this? i mean its not that much of a hassle to boot into the blue for me and then to cwm red to flash my roms and themes for eb01. I'm just curious if i really needa do this now, or do it a few days later out of sheer boredom. and with most themes, u can just choose the options to boot back into recovery now w/out the long presses cant you?

its not necessary but some people like to skip steps if they can , but not a huge deal if you dont have to

@ mods - Can you close this thread? It's pretty much obsolete with CWM-all now in superclean since 2.9 and Droidxcon's great thread explaining cwm. Thanks.
