How to change APN settings for new carrier data

I'm investigating moving from AT&T to Mint SIM which runs on the T Mo network. Looking at the new carrier's FAQ site the instructions they give for setting a different APN for use of MMS is far too general. In fact when I go into Settings I don't see any selections for changing APN. I know this is also important to get the best LTE speeds as well but have no idea what settings category that is either. Can anyone here help?
