Hi,

I am trying to film in landscape orientation, self takes for submissions for acting. The challenge I have, is at the highest resolution for video, requires a 4:3 aspect ratio, which makes the field of view too big (I need to start zoomed in for head shot, and zoom out to full body including feet.

The issue is that 4:3 ratio gets too much in on the sides... any suggestions for a different App on the phone, or how I can overcome this?

Thanks,

S.

Welcome to Android Central! I would just take the 4:3 shot and then crop it to how you'd like in the Gallery or Google Photos app.

Including feet, eh? I get you lol.

No, seriously though, if the camera sensor has a 4:3 aspect ratio natibely, that is the only aspect ratio you can get the cameras full resolution in. Your best option is to do as B.Diddy said and film like that and then edit it, provided you have the skill

Also, if 4:3 is too wide, you want to be filming portrait, not landscape. .

Camera sensor is 4:3 and that's the only way to achieve full resolution, anything else is a crop with reduced resolution. That's standard when recording video on a digital camera sensor that's designed to take photos.
