I've been using my new unlocked Honor 8 for a short while now. OK, less than 5 hours and oh my.. What a well built, easy to use awesome sauce phone this is. Why did I wait so so long. I've used the One plus 3, Sony Xperia, Sony XZ and the Samsung 7 which I didn't care for too much. Half the price yet... All of the features you'd expect from a top notch phone. Well if you're considering or procrastinating buying the Honor 8 don't.. Go get it you will not regret it.

I currently own the OnePlus 3. In what areas do you think the honor 8 is better then the OP3?
Been looking at reviews of the Honor 8 and I'm very interested!

Also, what's the sound quality like through headphones?

I listen to a lot of music!

Thanks.

Haha, your 'Awesome Sauce' made me laugh. Great to hear people loving this phone. You really do get so much value for your money! If you are buying a S7 Edge or a iPhone 7 Plus, you pay a lot of 'Premium Tax" but with the Honor 8, you just get a great device. I especially love the back panel reflection. The 4GB RAM is also a nice touch. Keeps the device running smooth.

Congrats on seriously one of the best devices on the mobile market today without any inflated cost. How truly nice is that. Get all you could ask for from a phone and pay $350 instead of $699. I also definitely encourage you to not download a launcher on your new Honor and they that software out for a week or two. If you do so you'll find that it's some of the best and smooth interface you've ever used and it's just lId out a tad different then pure Android. Actually what you get is a very nice and seamless blend of mix of both Android and Apple iOS. It's much like a hybrid software that gives you both the best in both interfaces. Welcome to a great device. Hope you enjoy it as you definitely made a good decision man.

Be glad to give you some input. What I've found so far so interesting is how snappy and responsive the phone is. Opening apps is so blazing quick. I was really unsure with Huawei using their own software on Android if this would hinder the phone. It's quite the opposite. Somehow, they've managed to optimize the two combinations with success. The phone is a good hand size yet, the screen quality for reading articles, web pages etc is very good. Web video quality is amazing such as urine, sports videos etc.

The phone is light. It's nice to hold and easy to put in your pocket. The phone finish is Sexy. Though I do have a clear cover to protect. The back with its glass finish is slightly slippery so I go this cover thrown on with the deal.

B&H photo right now you can pick this phone up for $289 with their coupon at checkout. Crazy deal.

The EMUI embedded software took with a few hours to get used to. Now I have no issues. The layout is different than that of stock Android. I've read and article this am that some people are using Google Launcher on their Honor 8 and P9 phones with great success. For me, I actually like their launcher. Something new to explore.

As for music, the quality through the speaker at the bottom of the phone like the plus 3 has good quality. I have not tried earphones yet.

The dual camera is a wow too. Better images I think that the plus 3.

Setup was so easy. Loaded up by sim and memory card. Everything loaded up smoothly with no issues. It took me approximately 45 minutes from the time I took the phone out of the box, kept it charged with a complete setup. No too shabby I say.

I'm really glad I bought this phone. For the price and it's specs you can't beat it. Nougat will be released mid February.

I have the black version of the phone. The blue looks nice and white to me well OK then.

That should say UTube not urine, Sorry everyone.
Did I mention nope forgot how quick the finger touch sensor is. Incredible.

Best software interface money can buy on the market right now. I've tried just about every high end phone out there. It was fun to test them but for a long time I was exclusive to Apple. IOS is rather just too much if that makes sense. Then pure stock Android isn't bad. I liked it but it seamed unrefined. So when I dove into the Honor 8 I immediately was like, wow this software interface is by far the best experience hands down on the mobile phone market. I truly believe why people say it's different is because it truly is but what Huawei Honor did which was a brilliant move was take IOS features and Android features and blended them so perfectly that this software becomes different. The layout is a breeze to learn. Getting used to a superior user experience since we all are so deeply used to either in your face IOS and to me like Block letters pure Android that this perfect blend will throw you off for a second bc it's just that well done. You get a class act software that is so seamless and truly without any major flaw and most people just really don't know how to explain it other than using different. I use the best or superior bc this is exactly what this interface is. Additionally it does not favor one software more than the other rather it's just a new breed of mobile software without the extremes of either and it's so refined it's an enjoyable experience to use daily. It's like they created a third type software which I would not be surprised if you see companies in the future shaping their interface to be highly comparable to Huawei honor as opposed to extreme Android and extreme IOS. So yes it's different in that respect but better in all facets.

Midnight black is what I have. It's a sexy phone!

You know, "basic black" for a lot of phones is exactly that - basic. But not for the Honor 8. That midnight black is the sleekest, sexiest black I've ever seen on a phone. I had a choice between that and white for my Honor 8, and though I chose the white version, the black, IMO, is still just as beautiful.

Morty2264, I'm assuming you're very happy with you Honor 8 even though you chose white lol. I'm amazed. I keep finding more and more options with this phone. I ask myself.. Why did I wait so long to purchase this awesome sauce phone.

Yes, I'm super happy with it! Yes, it's an amazing experience and I actually really like EMUI. And I love the phrase, "awesome sauce!"

My first one was the Blue color. I can't remember but I had to exchange it back to best buy for some reason but I did so knowing this was the ultimate mobile device. Now I have the Black model with a very thin and slim red case on it. Now I'm dying for a Mate 9 as my second device but I'm just not paying $599. Honor is definitely the best mobile device for the price you pay. I love my honor 8 as it's my daily use phone. Right now my second device is a ZTE Axon Pro that I just picked up on Amazon for $279. On paper the specs are very similar to the Honor but having used the Axon Pro for a couple days like I've always said about EMUI 4.1, it's unbelievably refined and it's interface is the best software in the mobile industry. I know there is either all out Apple iOS or typically pure Android but I strongly believe that Honor has in fact created a soon to be third software contender which we all know to be on the Honor 8. I call it a hybrid of both Android and Apple iOS. They've done such a good job of it that I certainly wouldn't be surprised if you were to see other brands produce software similar to that of what the Honor 8 offers. It's hands down the absolute best experience on the market currently

I am still in love with my honor 8 after months of use. EMUI 5 is a great update to the software too.
And I have just met another random person with one for the first time. His first comment when I said I had the same was "what an awesome phone"
